Omega FAQ

Q. I’ve been hearing a lot about Omega-3… what exactly is it?

A.Omega-3 fatty acids are an important group of fatty acids typically derived from fish. They play many important roles in human health, including a critical role in promoting healthy cardiovascular function. New research is being published all the time to add to the thousand of existing studies that have been published in hundreds of scientific journals.*

Q. Where does Omega-3 come from?

A.Fish oil is the best known and probably the most efficient source for the Omega-3 fatty acids. We use only anchovy and sardine. Small fish are the best choice for omega-3 because they won’t absorb the toxins found in the sea like lead and mercury.*

Q. What if I don’t like fish?

A.Many people don’t like fish–which is reflected by the fact that our Western diet is deficient in omega-3 fatty acids. Consequently, it makes sense to use a dietary supplement such as TeloMega to help compensate.*

Q. Doesn’t the body make omega-3?

A.While humans can synthesize the omega-3 fatty acids fatty acids EPA and DHA from the essential fatty acid Alpha-lineolenic acid (ALA), there is good evidence that human conversion is relatively inefficient and that EPA and DHA may also be essential under some conditions. Addition to this the Western diet deficiency of omega-3s, and together it makes a strong case for supplementation.*

Q. If Omega-3 comes from fish, then aren’t all fish oil supplements the same?

A.The fish oil used in TeloMega undergoes an extensive purification process involving molecular distillation, designed to eliminate impurities. We use pharmaceutical grade bovine gelatin capsules.*

Q. What makes TeloMega superior?

A.First, it’s highly concentrated with over 800 mg. EPA and over 400 mg. DHA. That’s three times the EPA and DHA per serving found in many fish oil products. Second, these softgels have a Clear Interior Enteric-Coating that allows them to pass through the stomach acids and into the intestines intact to deliver maximum absorption without a fishy aftertaste, belching, odor or reflux problems. In addition, it’s fortified with all natural antioxidant-rich Vitamin E to protect the freshness of the fish oil while it supports the immune system.

Q. Is TeloMega safe?

A.To verify safety, it is tested and must exceed safety standards for mercury, PCBs and other heavy metals before it is good enough to be used in TeloMega. Every cell in our body is surrounded by a cell membrane composed mainly of fatty acids. The cell membrane allows the proper amounts of necessary nutrients to enter the cell, and ensures that waste products are quickly removed from the cell. Omega-3 supports healthy cell membranes.*

Q. Have the benefits of omega-3 been documented?

A.Omega-3’s have been extensively researched in thousands of studies and published in hundreds of scientific journals. These include a plethora of other benefits too numerous to discuss here. Two particular benefits, however, should be highlighted. First is its anti-inflammatory properties which may help relieve common everyday inflammation resulting from physical exertion. Even more publicized are its cardiovascular benefits which include supporting healthy heart function and helping to promote healthy triglyceride levels already within normal ranges. In fact, omega-3’s cardiovascular benefits are so well-researched that the following qualified health claim is allowed: Supportive but not conclusive research shows that consumption of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. One serving of TeloMega provides one gram of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids.*

Q. Where can I verify all the claims being made for omega-3?

A.The findings of literally thousands of peer-reviewed scientific papers on the wide-ranging health benefits of Omega-3 have been reported in such journals as The New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American Medical Association, Frontiers in Bio-Science, Journal of the National Cancer Institute, Journal of Cell Biology, American Journal of Psychiatry and the Journal of Nutrition. However, an easier way of verifying the unmatched acceptance and validation of omega-3 is right on the internet. You don’t need to be a doctor because many of the studies are written in plain, easy to read, English.*

Q. I have seen ads that have made incredible claims for similar products, how do I know if they are true?
